General Information
Each dog six months of age or older must be licensed annually before July 1st. Licensing begins every year on June 1st.
All dogs six months and older must be licensed and wear a collar and tag at all times. A dog without a tag is presumed to be unlicensed and is not protected by law. A tag must not be used on any dog other than the dog described in the license bearing the corresponding number. You are liable for damage done by your dog. Owners of roaming dogs are liable to prosecution.

Important Message about Dog Licenses
The online dog license portal is closed during the month of May. New license sales for next year start on June 1 and run the entire month. If you need a license during the month of May, please visit the Town Clerk’s office in person.

Dog License Requirements: must meet ALL requirements
You must provide with your application:
- a copy of a current rabies certificate, signed by a veterinarian.
- a copy of spaying or neutering certificate (if first time dog is being licensed)
